For instance, my dogs always know when I'm going to leave the house, and whether they get to come or not, without me saying anything to them. They also seem to know when I'm mad at them even if I don't reprimand them. My cats don't seem to be as responsive, but they do like to cuddle with me if I'm sad. During a very hard time of my life, we had a family cat named Snoopy who used to come sit above my head on a tall recliner. He would sit there and lick my hair. I think cats sometimes sense what we feel even when there is nothing verbal, but especially with tears.
