Brian R repliedThe very nature of jokes, especially spontaneous ones will offend someone. Years ago a joke would be just that, a play on words or a social comment, no offense was intended but the Political Correctness Brigade saw offense at every turn.

The most offensive racist / Jewish / Muslim / sexist jokes I have heard have been told by their respective compatriots, but if I were to make the same jokes, I would be in deep excrement.

I work in am office environment with people from all ethnic (I hate that term as as to me Humans are Humans) and social backgrounds. My sense of humour is considered to be Non-PC, but how is it possible to work with people (that you trust and like) without occasionally saying something wrong.

If at times my jokes have offended people, then they are people who do not know me or wish for whatever reason to be offended. Years ago when I got married my best man was Kenyan Asian and another close friend was Muslim (Ok his wife was a catholic)

Aleksey F replied99% of good jokes offend someone. And yes racist, femininst, nationalist, most offensive jokes ARE the most funny. Why? Because they are so shocking, and go against the grain. They arent necessarily mean. People who get pissed off at those jokes should grow up.
