Try theses songs: Here Comes The Sun - The Beatles Yesterday - The Beatles Dust In The Wind - Kansas Crystal Ball - Styx Rachel_S165 repliedYes, you can use a pick on an acoustic guitar. As for songs, choose songs that you like. Its easier and more fun to learn songs you like than to learn songs just because you think you **should** know them. KrisT repliedYou can use a flat pick, a thumb pick or your fingers. There are some wonderful songs for sitting around a campfire with friends, that everyone can join in singing. Not sure of your age, so songs that interest you may be different from songs that interest me. Folk songs are usually very easy once you have a basic knowledge of chords and strums. Most usually use only three chords, and have melodies that everyone should already know. Examples are: She'll Be Comin Round the Mountain, 500 miles, If I Had a Hammer, This Land is Your Land, Where Have All the Flowers Gone, Kum Bay Yah.
The key is getting some instruction on basic strumming patterns and learning your chords. You can buy song books that will give you the chords and words to songs. You can also find them online, search "folk songs chords" and you may be able to find some that are all ready for you to print and use. Good luck, and have fun! |
