Problems lifespan iPodMarie J postedHi...sooo, I recently got the new Nano Chromatic, anddd, I charged it right away when I got it. Sometimes I've been told you should exhaust the charge first, then charge it fully, and other times I've been told to charge fully for a few hours right when you get it. Did I make a mistake by charging it first? It lasts for about 2 - 2.5 hours, and correct me if I'm wrong, but that seems like a short lifespan. Also, I have the backlight set to "Always On" Will setting the backlight to the minimum time significantly reduce the amount of charge used on the iPod? I've heard it does... Anyway, If anyone has any answers, I'd greatly appreciate it. And is there ANYTHING, even it it's really small, that I can do to lengthen the lifespan of the iPod? Sponsored Link-------------------------- hello repliedwell, the backlight definately does take away from the battery, so turn it off however that is very wrong if it only last for about 2 hours take it to the apple store or wherever you got it for an exchange 6teen 4ever! repliedI would turn the backlight off so that it is only on for about 30 seconds, And 2.5 hrs. isn't right, so you might have messed it up charging it right away... I wouldn't tell that to the people at the store where you got it though, because if you tell them that it did that when you got it then they might give you a new one.. repliedDefinitely turn the back light to be on only for a few seconds when you touch it.
Also try charging it and draining it a few times before you give up on it. The first charge you did may have messed with the battery memory a bit, so just try fully cycling it a few times and see if that helps. And if that doesn't work, then I would consider taking it back if possible. |
