I HAVE A MAJOR COMPUTER PROBLEMiPWNnoobehs postedPhew. Ok. My gramma bought a new computer. It came with Vista. Her job required XP. She downgraded he Vista to XP with no problems. She quit her job and I want Vista put on it. She agreed but we can't find the disk. Heres my question...Is it possible to download Vista from Microsoft, or do I have to buy her a whole other copy?!?!?!?!?!?! additional---------------------- btw....vista doesn't suck. most of its problems (80%) can be fixed by turning the UCP (i think) off. you arent smart ennough to understand that though. Sponsored Link-------------------------- Greg B repliedYou can purchase a downloadable OS. You'll need to save it to a dual layer DVD disk as it's quite large or if you want to a couple of single layer disks after downloading to a folder. Microsoft.com! cool_clearwater repliednope you can use somebody else's copy as long as you use your own key pavel887 repliedYou can't just download Windows Vista from Microsoft's website. You can download an illegal copy from eMule or something but it's illegal as I said so you'll need to buy a new copy of Windows Vista, but your grandma was right when she downgraded from Vista to XP. Vista is the worst OS released by Microsoft but it's your choice. Ryan Lancaster repliedIt's illegal to download Vista from anywhere. You can phone Microsoft and tell them yout Product Key and where and when you bought the laptop, I'm sure they'll co-operate and send you a replacement disc. purebishop repliedif she followed the directions when she booted her pc for the first time, she should have made vista recovery discs from which she can reinstall vista. if not, there might be a recovery partition she could reinstall vista from. if this is also not there, you can contact the manufacturer and request restore discs for vista. fortune repliedYou can use others CD to install Vista but I think Vista sucks. ITs far better in XP. But if you choose Vista Use someones else cd or buy one if you are willing to keep a licensed copy for yourself Kkhk H repliedBut an OEM versions for 99.99 on Newegg. I did. Rodger R repliedYou don't want to upgrade to Vista. Vista is a memory hog that will also decrease the performance of your computer by about 10%. Vista sucks. varun replied1. One thing u can do is that u can use ur's friends Vista copy...
2. Else u can go to the sellsman from were did u get ur laptop and ask him for the vista cd. 3. Or u can have an illeagl Vista ( downloaded from any site or from any store). But my genuine advise to u is that u don't change XP to Vista. B'coz XP is much better than Vista |
