How I persuade public schoolfashionista postedHere is the dilemna: My parents want to send me to a private high school next year. This school has 100 students, extracurricularur activities, and 5 classrooms. My sister goes there now, and I see how the large amount of homework she has every night. She has a 4.0; and is thriving. The truth is, I am not as smart as her. Just because it works for her does not mean it will work for me. Excuse me but I actually want to have fun in high school, not chained to a desk doing homework. Worst part is, 13 of the kids from my grade(I am in private school) will be going there next year. I need new people, new surroundings!!! The high school I am districted to is called Kamiakin high school. If anyone can dig up some good stuff about it, please give the link! Can anyone give me benefits of public high schools? Advice?! Sponsored Link-------------------------- ▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ repliedFor a private high school I'm disappointed with their site. It looks unprofessional and dull. The high school that I am attending is Lane Tech Here's their website http://lanetech.org/ It is a public high school and there are tons of extracurricular activities, clubs, sports, everything. It is a HUGE school though and it's a magnet school, meaning I had to take a test to get admissions. What I love most about my school is it's diversity and academics. First of all, my high school serves almost every Advanced Placement course. I have taken 5 so far. My GPA is over 4.0 because this school offers Honors credit also. I'm not a genius by any means but here's a little tip. If someone can do it so can you. I don't have more than 3 hours of homework on a daily basis either. Are there any magnet schools where you live? Happy Holidays From My Girls! repliedhttp://www.ksd.org/kamiakin/ Look at all of those programs! http://www.publicschoolreview.com/school... That shows a review of the school. It seems pretty good if you ask me. Zorak repliedHard to say there. You are just gonna have to do some homework on your own here and come up with reasons why you should not go to this school.
Some public high schools are absolutely horrible these days. But then again some public schools are not-some are quite good. Your parents are probably just assuming that this school you want to go to is bad without checking into it. You need to show them the good sides of it. If this private school only has 100 students it probably doesnt have any sort of sporting teams, cheerleading squads or anything like that. Find some school activities that interest you that are only offered at the public school, that you would miss out on if you went to the private school. Use that as a reason why you should go to the public school. |
