Occasional twitches movementsBrian P postedNow i had this my whole life but im noticing more and more as i get older. Im 16 years old and i can never sit still or keep still to say, my head sometimes jerks a certain way and my fingers jump on occasion and sometimes my leg twitches. and other muscles tend to twitch. I tried to search why this is happening but everything i pull up is saying things that aren't what i am asking. IM NOT TALKING ABOUT THE TWITCHES YOU GET IN YOUR EYELID OR CHEEK THAT IS LIKE A VIBRATION. I don't take pills, and this isn't recent. Sponsored Link-------------------------- redz repliedWhat Is Restless Legs (RLS)? Ekbom Syndrome is more commonly known as "restless legs". It is believed to afflict 5% of the population. The crawling or bubbling sensation ( which can include ache, cramp, jerking, numbness, weakness of the legs tickling and running pains) can also sometimes be felt in the feet, thighs, trunk and arms. The sensations can begin as soon as the sufferer sits or lies down. Although the symptoms may vary, the one consistent factor is that the sensations can be relieved by moving the legs. Relief is usually short lived leading to the need for constant movement. Avoid: standing or sitting for long periods, cat naps during the day, heavy meals or coffee before bed, restrictive clothing or any made of synthetic materials. MishMash repliedTry increasing your intake of magnesium as this will relax your muscles. Almonds are a good source (as a snack) look up other sources on the Internet. I also take tablets. If it continues get your parents to take you to your family doctor, mention your symptoms and ask for a neurology consult. sanandreasguy51 repliedRestless Legs Syndrome Restless Arms Syndrome Restless Head Syndrome ...or perhaps a neurological disorder! Maria K repliedI have a friend who gets this and he has a mild very slight case of Tourette's syndrome... It's very mild because he doesn't shout out weird things or loose control of what he's saying - but he too has a hard time keeping still- and will get involuntary muscles movements-some times he has the constant need to tap his foot to move his fingers.. he just basically has a hard time sitting still...I would see your doctor.. especially if it happens on regular basis.. you could be having tic's sam's fivenfour repliedI get this in class also when I'm sleepy. I think it's just a quick reaction in the nervous system that causes you to twitch.
