Where I shop PhilippinesKim postedI was wondering if they had any American stores there. I am going there soon and bringing as much money as I need. I am a 13 year old, and I don't wanna be bored the whole time I am there. So i wanna shop! Any upper class malls in Manila? additional---------------------- I have a "well off" family. Sponsored Link-------------------------- Doctor J repliedThe SM Malls (a lot of them all over Metro Manila and in various urban areas nationwide), The Ayala Malls (Glorietta, Greenbelt, Trinoma) are world-class and you might be surprised they could be better than some malls where you come from. As a 13 year old, the malls will provide you not just shopping, but entertainment as well. I advise you though not to do malling alone. Even local kids go to malls in groups, the better to enjoy the malling experience. And there is always safety in numbers, especially since you will be unfamiliar with the local nuances. Comrade Vlademir repliedWhat is "upper-class"? costa b repliedin Robinson mall manila or Asia mall jane d repliedUpper Class Malls would be Greenbelt 4, Greenbelt 5, Rockwell Power Plant Mall, ShangriLa Edsa Glorietta has a lot of good shops too. Plus there's a Rustan's Department Store there which offers a lot of high end brands too. SM Mall of Asia, and Trinoma has good stores too. Not High end, but I think for your age, you'd be able to find lots of good stuffs there. :) Jim S repliedI agree with Lapu lapu Arf Some of the biggest malls in the world are in Manila. It has; World's 3rd biggest - SM Mall of Asia World's 7th biggest - SM City North Edsa World's 8th biggest - SM Megamall USA doesn't make the list until number 11 with Eastwood Mall Complex Youngstown, Ohio However, there is no need to be bored in the Philippines. There is plenty to do besides shopping. Philippines has waterfalls, volcanos, white sandy beaches, islands to explore, hot springs, cold springs and much more. You can; - See hanging coffins in Sagada - See ancient rice terraces in Banaue - See inside the Taal volcano at Tagatay - Swim underground in the Hinagdanan cave on Panglao Island - Ride a boat on the underground river on Palawan - See the Chocolate Hills on Bohol - Relax in hot springs on Camiguin Island - Visit historical sights in many places such a Intramuros - Relax on white sandy beaches on a huge number of beaches - Go snorkelling or scuba diving in many places Ride in unusual transport such as; - Bangka boat (outrigger boat) - Tricycle (motorbike with cabin for sometimes 10 passengers or more) - Habal Habal (motorbike with extended seat and extra foot pegs for up to 5 passengers) - Jeepney (originally were left over troop carriers from second world war. Current jeepneys use a very similar design) - Calesas, also know as Tartanillas (horse drawn carriage) - Pot Pot, also known as a pedi cab (bicycle with side car) Also, a 13 year old would probably be interested in a theme park or 2. Here are 2 for Manila http://www.enchantedkingdom.com.ph/ Star City (website not working. Google for info) Enjoy your trip! Regards: Jim Sibbick Juan C repliedyou have no idea, more than 50% of all stores in the Philippines are American-owned.... rob d repliedGo to the Mall of Asia. It is huge and is filled with the best American and European designer stores. You wont be disappointed. Bring lots of money because ours is worth alot there and your gonna get alot of stuff. Have a fun trip. pepang repliedmall of asia AWOL repliedhttp://guides.clickthecity.com/ But personally, I like the Edsa Shangri-la, Greenbelt, Market! Market!, and for some culture, go shop at Tiendesitas- a "one-stop-shop" for all native knick-knacks, latest clothes are on sale this season, antiques, they have good Filipino food and coffee. jd repliedThe mall of Asia is huge and nearly new. There are street markets as well. You bring all that money and spend it here. Then more than one will be happy. You may have the time of your life. Might even learn something. Lapu-lapu arf repliedGreenbelt, Glorietta, Powerplant Mall, Trinoma...Then the rest of the SM malls - Mall of Asia, Sm North Edsa etc... We have better malls than in your place by the way. Bad Wolf repliedUnless you are very well off I do not think a 13 yo will be able to afford much in the "upperclass" stores. Head to Greenbelt 5 for the afternoon. You will blow your allowance pretty quickly.
