On Friday night I was feeling weak and tired and a bit bunged up and when I woke up on saturday morning - raging fever, cold and shivery, runny/blocked nose, sore throat, pounding head. I feel awful, i'm just staying warm in bed with my laptop and lemsip and a hot water bottle. Hope you feel better. moonlight kiss repliedmy husband got it yesterday hope you feel better soon Enchanted December repliedYes, I had it last week. It was awful, stuffed up nose, bad cough, fevers every day for a week almost.. Thank god it's gone now though, you'll make it through. Chloe Y repliedI don't, but 3 of my cousins do! Don't worry about it, it'll be over soon :) Get well soon b'stardoh repliedThere's a lot of flu going about right now here in London and I guess UK at large. I have a flu jab every year and I STRONGLY recommend that everyone does the same. Since I get my flu jab for free, a pensioner, I'm not sure of the price, but it would not be much more than about £20 at say Boots the Chemist, who do flu jabs at some of their stores. Flu is pure hell. I had it once back in 1957 when many thousands of people simply died. I was in hospital for about two weeks and less than an inch from death's door, with a temperature roaring up to about 106f - I know just how you feel. If you can manage it, get yourself as much comforting medicine as you can. There's one which you can add to hot water and put in a bowl and throw a towel over your head and breath in the vapour, which helps, think it's called Friars Balsam - should get it at most chemists. Friars Balsam http://www.herbaled.org/THM/Compounds/fr... Flu is not a cold - it is a very serious respiratory disease of the lungs which often causes widespread illness in large sections of the population. Since the flu bug is airborne it can travel the Globe with ease. You'll be okay, just keep taking whatever medicines you may have been prescribed. Stay in bed a lot, keep warm, etc. Laughter helps - here's Tommy Cooper http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=teXn-vIolK... Carrie repliedWhat kind of dumb hick knows what sickle cell leukaemia is?
