Unkurg repliedSpeaking as someone who has not read either series, and probably never will (although my ten-year-old is currently on the fourth Harry Potter book), I cannot help but notice just how vituperative everybody is getting concerning all of this.
All I know for certain is that both J. K. Rowling and Stephanie Meyer, along with their publishers, are probably renting out cargo containers to hold all the money that is being thrown at them by all of their excitable fans.
I can remember when Beatles and Rolling Stones fans felt the same way about one another (ye gods, I'm showing my age).
Anyway, how about if I say...let's calm down. Live and let live (until the next big author rolls around, and all of this starts over again...)

JaiSitaRam! repliedPersonally, I love Harry Potter and always will, because it's one of the BEST series I ever read, and I'll love it my whole life, but this post can hurt the feelings of Twilightians also. I mean, they're not the only ones saying Vampires rule. Harry Potter fans are also saying Wizards rule over Vampires. It's all just opinion. Although by the sales of the books, Harry Potter is clearly more popular, there are many who love Twilight over Harry Potter, and while all the criticism both ways gets annoying, opinions should be respected. Both Stephanie Meyers and JK Rowling are great authors, and both of their books are clearly a big hit.

I personally love Harry Potter so much, and I definitely love it over Twilight, but there's no need for a rebellion. :) That goes for both sides. Respect others' opinions, and stop the criticizing. It's hurtful to fans of both books. Hope I didn't offend anyone....

stefani repliedI love Harry Potter so much more than Twilight. Harry Potter's fanbase isn't a bunch of girls. I love the characters and I can actually cry in that book. The ending isn't all perfect like in SM book. She should have killed someone off like J.K. or made someone leave. J.K. loved her characters too but she sacraficed hers it made it more intresting and it made me sad. Ron and George are just funny. The humor in Twilight sucks. The plot is real unlike Twilights.
